Cheap Wedding Table Centerpiece Ideas

Cheap Wedding Table Centerpiece Ideas

A wedding can come with a high price tag. Of all the expenses involved, one place where you can easily cut costs is the decoration budget. You can incorporate any style, whether it's elegant or whimsical, into reception table centerpieces that accommodate both your tastes and your finances.

Candles

Inexpensive candles create a dramatic visual statement and add a sense intimacy. A set of tea lights placed around a small floral arrangement can make the flowers look more vibrant. You could also put the tea lights in votive holders: no one will notice if they're second hand or from the dollar store. Another way to use candles is to cluster candlesticks of different heights and sizes in similar holders. Fill out the centerpiece with strewn flowers, shells or small stones.

Flowers

Wedding flowers can cost hundreds of dollars but yours don't have to. Try using dried flowers in your centerpieces for a more natural look. Tie a few together to make small bouquets or arrange them into wreaths to place around candles. Dry your own flowers ahead of time to save even more money. If you'd like something more traditional, inexpensive flowers can be just as attractive as their costlier counterparts. Daises and Queen Anne's lace are cheap, but they look more delicate and airy than a bouquet of roses.

Fruit

Fruit makes for a particularly delicious centerpiece. Seasonal fruit is especially inexpensive, but placing them in one or several decorative containers gives them an exotic touch. A glass bowl of water, floating candles and citrus fruit slices brings bold colors and sweet smells to the table. Gourds and small pumpkins are ideal for an autumn wedding.

Found Objects

If you're feeling especially creative, try using more unconventional objects for your centerpieces. Lanterns, goldfish in bowls and small sculptures can all make memorable centerpieces. Cupcake towers and groupings of mismatched champagne glasses are fun and functional. If you're having a theme wedding, the sky's the limit for centerpiece ideas. Thrift store candelabras with black candles make a Halloween wedding reception a Gothic affair. Jars or other glass containers filled with beach glass and broken shells evoke the seaside for a related destination wedding. Small branches spray-painted white can look elegant for a winter wedding.
