Unique Table Centerpieces

Whether you're throwing a large event at a banquet facility or hosting an intimate affair in your home, you'll likely want to use a centerpieces to add interest to the tables that are being used. Instead of the usual cut flowers in vases, create a unique, eye-catching centerpiece that will be sure to grab the attention of your guests. Does this Spark an idea?

Glittering Trees

Create a glistening tree for a table centerpiece. Set floral foam in the center of a low-lying vase. Collect thin branches from outside, clip them and insert them into the floral foam -- add hot glue to the end of the branches before inserting them into the foam to ensure they are secure. Cover the base of the floral foam with faux moss or pebbles. Cut lengths of clear filament, and tie crystals to the ends. Tie the filament to the branches, allowing them to hang down from the trees. Place tea lights around the base of the vase; when the candles are illuminated, the crystals hanging from the trees will glitter.

Gift Boxes

If you're hosting a shower or a birthday party, use gift boxes as centerpieces for the tables. Gather a collection of different sized boxes, and wrap them in decorative gift wrap that matches the color scheme of the event. Embellish the wrapped boxes with decorative ribbons and bows. Arrange three or four boxes in a pile in the center of the tables. Use various paper and ribbons, or arrange the boxes in different formations on different tables. For an additional decorative touch, scatter flower petals around the base of the arrangement.

Inspirational Words

Create an inspirational centerpiece using poetry or lyrics to a song. Select a poem or a song that has particular meaning to you, type it in a whimsical font and print it out on decorative paper. Place the poem or lyrics in a decorative picture frame and place the frame in the center of the table. To add further embellishments to the table, cut the center out of a piece of square or rectangular shaped floral foam, large enough so that the frame will fit into the foam. Cut rose, carnation or another flower of your choice, and place the blooms into the foam. Place the floral foam around the frame, and scatter a few flower petals around the centerpiece.

Glasses, Flower and Candles

Gather a collection of wine glasses. Clip the blooms of flowers of your choice, place the glasses upside-down on a table and place one bloom underneath the opening of the glass. Place a tea light on top of the base of the wine glass. Arrange three to five wine glasses that are the same height along the center of a table, or group together three to five glasses of different heights in the middle of the table.
