Fall Wedding Table Centerpiece Ideas

Fall Wedding Table Centerpiece Ideas

When planning reception decor for an autumn wedding, think pumpkins, harvest hues, fall flowers and rich fabrics. Juxtapose casual natural elements with traditional wedding fineries to create a sophisticated tablescape. Prior to choosing the ideal table decor, pick a fall-inspired theme such as rustic country or elegant autumn.

Festive Pumpkin Decor

When decorating an autumn wedding reception table, using pumpkins is the natural choice. Combine country-inspired pumpkins with vibrant flowers for a stunning centerpiece. Hollow out a large white pumpkin and fill it with a block of water-soaked florist foam. Insert stems of harvest-hued blooms, such as orange, deep red and yellow roses, sunflowers, orange and yellow daisies and coral chrysanthemums, into the foam to create an attractive arrangement. Accent the flowers with stems of real or faux autumn leaves and twigs of red and orange berries. Surround the centerpiece with mini orange and white pumpkins, yellow and green gourds and candle holders filled with orange, pumpkin-scented tealights to cast soft glow and scent across the table.

Charming Country Centerpiece

If you are planning a charming country-inspired reception, use decor pieces that bring to mind cozy farmhouse kitchens and days spent pumpkin picking. Design a traditional look by using a woven cornucopia basket, or choose a large metal vintage scoop as a creative option. Place the basket or scoop in the center of the table and line it with an autumn-hued scarf featuring pumpkin or leaf patterns, or an antique lace doily for a mix of casual and classy. Fill the cloth-lined vessel with a fall bounty of mini pumpkins, ripe pears and red and gold apples.

Fall Foliage

Take a walk through a wooded park to gain autumn wedding table centerpiece inspiration. Gather small branches teeming with red, gold and orange leaves. Pick up a few pine cones and transform them into glamorous decor pieces with a little gold spray paint. Fill a large, clear glass pedestal-style vase with the gold pine cones and a handful or two of cranberries for festive color. Insert the leaf-filled branches into the pine cones to resemble mini trees. Flank the centerpiece with burnished gold candlesticks holding rust orange or deep red candles and accent the centerpiece with a spattering of acorns or other autumn nuts.
