Ideas for Holiday Centerpieces

No matter how big your holiday decor budget is, you can create festive table centerpieces. Whether you are hosting a large Christmas celebration or an intimate Valentine's Day dinner, create table decor to set the mood. If you are pressed for time, enhance just the table, rather than your entire home, with holiday-inspired items; your guests will most likely spend the majority of their time at the table. Use candles to create both eye-catching centerpiece items and soft lighting elements. Does this Spark an idea?

Christmas Table Decor

Set an elegant Christmas table using seasonal decor items. Fill a large, clear glass bowl with shiny gold, silver, green and red ball-shaped ornaments for a simple centerpiece. Sprinkle a silver tray with fake snow and place two white pillar candles in the center; add color with a few sprigs of red berries. For inexpensive decor, cover pine cones with craft glue and glitter and place them in a large hurricane vase.

Thanksgiving Centerpieces

Create an autumn-inspired centerpiece for your Thanksgiving gathering. For a sophisticated style, place several small white pumpkins in the center of the table. Fill several tall glass candle holders with orange, red and yellow pillar candles to complete the look. For a country flair, place an assortment of brightly hued gourds in a woven basket.

Easter Table Display

Use fresh accents to dress up your Easter dinner table. Place a variety of herbs, such as thyme and basil, in pastel-hued plant pots; guests can use them to flavor their food. Fill delicate butterfly-patterned vases with an assortment of colorful tulips; clip butterfly replicas around the perimeter of the tablecloth. Fill a large glass bowl with water and an assortment of pastel flower-shaped floating candles.

Halloween Flair

Enhance a Halloween bash table with a festive tree and spooky ornaments. Buy a small decorative tree featuring black, glitter-encrusted branches. Fill the tree with assorted Halloween-inspired ornaments, including black spiders, jack-o-lanterns, witches and ghosts.

Valentine's Day Decor

Design a romantic Valentine's Day centerpiece. Set a romantic table for two by filling two vintage soda bottles, such as Orange Crush, with sweetheart roses. Adorn a heart-shaped cake pan with rose blooms and place it in the center of the table. Fill vintage porcelain vases with handmade pink paper roses.
