Unique Ideas for Table Centerpieces With Flowers

Unique Ideas for Table Centerpieces With Flowers

Floral table centerpieces can liven up a table for a wedding reception or any type of party or function. However, flowers in a vase can become tiresome, so expand on that idea with some different ideas for table centerpieces. Put a twist on traditional centerpieces and make your table decorations stand out. Does this Spark an idea?

Fruit and Flowers

Combine fresh fruit with your flowers to make a festive centerpiece. Use a shallow glass or plastic container and slice lemons or limes in half. Line the container with the fruit, with the halves facing outward in a circle. Place flowers and greenery in the center of the bowl. Alternately, fill a glass vase with water and float fruit slices in the water. Place flowers in the vase so that the fruit still remains visible. Match the flower color to the color of the fruit for a more coordinating look.

Pebbles and Candles

Place colored marbles or pebbles on pretty, flat trays. Stick a couple of candles into the rocks, and use artificial flowers to accent the candles. Match the flowers to the candles, and place several flower blooms, without stems, around the candles into the rocks for a simple centerpiece.

Container Ideas

Switch it up by putting your flower arrangement in an interesting container. A juice can, a paper bag pulled over a vase and tied with ribbon or a Mason jar are all different ideas for containers. You can put stems into floral foam in a shallow dish and tie the stems with colorful ribbon for a cool look. Another idea is to decorate the table with vases of different sizes and colors, that complement your theme colors. Put one or two flowers in each vase. This looks beautiful with small glass vases in bright colors.

Wheat

Stalks of wheat look casual for a more country themed event when they are tied with a pretty ribbon and set into a flower arrangement. The wheat will rise above the flowers, creating an effect you couldn't achieve with flowers alone. This type of centerpiece works well for an outdoor event or wedding reception.
