How to Build a Goat Table

A goat table is a short platform that is large enough for goats of any size to stand on. They are used for milking, sizing or showing goats. A goat table like this is a simple wooden structure built from standard, treated construction lumber. Use treated plywood for the top of the table to increase its lifespan. It is different from other milking stands because it does not have the feature of tying the goats neck to the stand.

Set two 55-inch boards on edge, parallel, spaced 22 inches apart. Set two 22-inch boards perpendicularly between them. Space the 22-inch boards 52 inches apart so they're flush with the ends of the 55-inch boards.

Lay your plywood on top of the boards so the edges are flush with the sides of the boards and screw the plywood to the boards using four screws for each. This is the top of your goat table.

Turn the top of the goat table over so it is resting on the plywood. Position an 11-inch board inside each corner at a right angle and screw through each corner using four screws for each 11-inch board. These are the legs to your goat table.
