How to Make a John Deere Kitchen

How to Make a John Deere Kitchen

Decorating your kitchen area with John Deere decor gives it a casual, country-style atmosphere. Whether you lived on a farm as a child or have sweet memories of visiting your grandparents in a farm community, John Deere memorabilia creates a homey, old-fashioned feeling in your kitchen. It is not a difficult process to use the decor if you purchase the right accessories and use the correct colors. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Pick out the paint color for your kitchen walls. Since John Deere farm equipment is yellow and green, either one of these choices helps create the look you desire. If you don't want to use such a bold color on the walls, off-white, beige and taupe are excellent neutral color choices that coordinate well with country-style decor. Utilize bright yellow or green accent colors in your chairs, cooking pots, utensils or your knickknacks.

    2

Invest in a kitchen table and chairs that are constructed with light wood tones, such as oak or pine. Farm tables are often rustic looking and don't have a lot of detailing or curves in the wood. Another idea is to find a vintage-looking Formica table. These are often found in country-style homes and coordinate well with John Deere decor.

    3

Purchase artwork that depicts a field with a tractor in it or farm workers doing their daily chores. This helps create an old-fashioned, rustic atmosphere in the kitchen area.

    4

Find potholders, dish and table cloths that have John Deere or other green tractor prints in the fabric. Display these in your kitchen.

    5

Purchase table and wall accessories, such as a sugar caddy, napkin dispenser, wall clock or place mats that have the John Deere logo or a similar farm scene on them. These are available at John Deere equipment stores, online or at many home decor shops.

    6

Place a neutral color area rug underneath your table and in front of the kitchen sink, or use one with a rustic, farm-inspired print.
