Ideas for a Beer Bottle Table

Ideas for a Beer Bottle Table

When you are looking for creative furniture or ways to reduce your impact on the environment, tables made from beer bottles can be eco-friendly and visually striking. By using bottles in unusual ways, you can design one-of-a-kind tables that add a touch of personality and style to your home or office. Does this Spark an idea?

Bottles and Planks

To make use of old planks you have laying around the garage or attic, pair them with beer bottles for a customizable table. Choose two planks of roughly the same size; these will become the top and base of your table. In the bottom plank, cut a hole in each corner that is just big enough for the beer bottles to fit snugly. Do the same in the top plank, making the holes big enough to slide over the beer bottle neck and rest on the wider part. Put four beer bottles in the bottom plank and rest the top plank over the bottle necks. You can add additional bottles along the sides of the table for additional stability and strength. To make the table taller, use four-inch by four-inch boards to make table legs. Cut them between six and nine inches tall and nail them to the four corners of the bottom plank.

Side Table

For an unexpected small side table, use a base made of beer bottles. Find two or three cylindrical or rectangular pieces of wood or sturdy plastic forms that can be stacked on top of each other to form tiers. Use a heavy-duty glue to attach the bottles to the sides of each form, allowing them to dry completely. Stack the bottle-covered tiers and rest a small, lightweight table top on the top tier, using glue or nails to secure it to the form.

Bottom of Bottles

If you want a strong visual statement, start with a table that has a clear top. Using a strong, clear epoxy, attach beer bottles to the underside of the table top, bottoms facing up. You can use different colors in a pattern for an eclectic look or go with a single color for a uniform table. If your epoxy is not strong enough, add extra reinforcement by adding a plank below the bottles to sandwich them with the table top.

Bottle Structure

Use beer bottles to make an artistic structure by arranging them into a free-form table. Flip the bottles upside down to form the table top and use tall bottles for table legs. Find a strong glue that is designed for use on glass and use it to attach bottles together so they are suspended off of the floor. When complete, the table will look as though the bottles are floating in place. Draw out your design first and add bottles on slowly to ensure that the final table will be able to support weight.
