How to Decorate Your Entryway and Foyer for Fall

Your entryway or foyer is the first place guests see when they enter your home and it should be both inviting and exciting. Even if you do not have a formal foyer or entryway, you can create one by simply defining the space. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Define the space: Even if you have an actual entryway you still will want to define the space. You can do this by placing a large mirror over a dresser or other table. Many entryways feature a rectangular tall sofa table, but you could also use a round table, a tall lingerie chest, or a dresser. The drawers can double as storage space for winter hats, gloves and scarves. Place the table and mirror where they will be immediately seen when visitors arrive. A bonus of having the mirror is you can check your appearance one last time before you leave the house.

    2

Add Fall Decorations: The first item needed is a rug which features fall colors. When most people think of fall colors, of course they think of changing leaves. Leaves turn from green to ultimately brown, but in between there are so many gorgeous fall colors from shades of orange, red, burgandy and even purple. Find a rug with an array of these colors and use this as your background or inspiration piece for decorating your entryway for fall.

    3

Place Accessories: These should be in keeping with the fall theme. Use operated tealight candles. These are flameless and smokeless, so they are perfect to place on the entry table and can be left unattended.

    4

Add Flowers: Next place a tall vase on the entryway table. This vase should be of a natural material and in a brown or dark color. Now place fresh flowers in yellow tones in the vase.
